Group visits and guided tours

Always book in advance

We’re always happy to welcome groups at the Jewish Cultural Quarter. Book a guided tour of the Portuguese Synagogue, take a walk in the old Jewish neighbourhood or learn about the history of Chanukah at the Jewish Museum. We also have special programmes for schools designed specifically for children.

If there are ten or more of you, we prefer you to book tickets as a group. Even if you’re not taking a guided tour or you’re bringing your own guide. It enables us to ensure you have sufficient space.

School visits

From primary school to HBO technical school, you’ll discover everything you ever wanted to know about being Jewish through our educational programmes and tours. Come and explore the similarities and differences between Judaism and your own heritage with a museum docent as your guide.

You learn about the difference between Jewish religion and culture, find out how the community functions and take a look at antisemitism and the persecution of Jews in the Netherlands.

Children’s party?

Birthday coming up? Celebrate it at Jewish Museum junior!

The Hollander family’s Jewish home is a perfect place for a children’s party. You can play music, bake treats and make things. And of course the birthday child gets a present.
