Israel: Divider or Unifier of the Jewish Community?

Language: Dutch
Location: Jewish Museum
Time: 6.00pm - 8.30pm
In recent years, Israel has become an increasingly visible and unavoidable part of Jewish identity. For some, this strengthens mutual bonds; for others, it increases distance, both within the community and in relation to broader society.
How do we manage this tension? How can the Jewish community remain a space where differences can exist without losing one another? How can we counter radicalization and create space for conversation, empathy, and cooperation? Perhaps by sitting together at the table?
In this program, we will literally do so by sharing a meal and exploring how Jews envision the future. These conversations acknowledge differences while seeking common ground: tradition, a shared history, and the desire for a living and resilient community.
The ingredients of the food served are all kosher but not 'ORT' (not prepared under rabbinical supervision). If you prefer this, please send an email to evenementen@jck.nl.
Admission: € 12.50
Through a series of six public programs at different venues, the Jewish Museum explores the impact of the war in Gaza on Dutch society.
