Exploring Queer Jewish Texts with Rabbi Asjer Waterman

Workshop
August 31

Here's a secret: history isn't just "what happened." It's a story, pieced together by historians who decide which facts matter most.

And like any story, there's always more than one way to tell it. In this workshop we will join rabbi Asjer Waterman in digging into the stories that usually get left out, the ones that show queerness has been woven into Jewish tradition from the very beginning. We'll explore texts that prove queer Jews aren't some modern footnote. We've been here the whole time, part of the Jewish story since day one. No prior knowledge needed, just curiosity. All texts are available in their original language plus English translation, so come as you are. Let's dive into a history we get to be proud of.
