SOLD OUT | Practicing Hope

Language: English and Dutch
Location: Jewish Museum
Time: 7.30pm - 21.30pm
Hope is the answer to powerlessness. Hope is about recognizing that the future is open, and that within that uncertainty lies the possibility for change. Hope is religious, social and even futuristic.
On this evening, program maker and moderator Mirthe Frese will talk to Israeli designer and peace activist Mushon Zer-Aviv about futures thinking and hope. Zer-Aviv developed a workshop in which he encourages people to imagine different futures. His method revolves around imagination and helps people realize that the future is not fixed. Zer-Aviv recently gave this workshop in Amsterdam together with Palestinian Dutch political scientist Dana Rentenaar. After the interview with Mushon, various participants will talk about their experiences. What was it like to think together about futures in which there is also room for others?
With contributions from visual artist David Bernstein, actress Sam Ghilane, Zoe Knoller, Anisa Boonman and Asjer Waterman. With this program, the Jewish Cultural Quarter launches the installation Imagining Futures. The power of futures thinking in uncertain times, which can be visited before and after the program.
Admission: €18.00 (including consumption)
This event is part of the What now?! programme and is supported by the Netty Rosenfeld Fund
