Hundreds of burning candles and the wonderful acoustics in the Portuguese Synagogue set the stage for unique evening concerts.
Klezmagic is a young, energetic Amsterdam band that weaves together klezmer, Balkan, and their own influences into an explosive mix.
Klezmagic's performances are characterized by infectious enthusiasm. The chemistry between the musicians of Klezmagic is almost palpable: the result of a close friendship built on years of playing together and touring Europe in the summer.
Following their debut album Makedamsko (2019) came the mini-album De grote race (2022). Their second album, Op vrije voeten, was presented last March and contains even more elements of world music and ska. Especially for the Portuguese Synagogue, they will perform a fully instrumental set, in which the rousing clarinet and captivating violins are supported by accordion and guitar, plus a rhythm section with bass and drums.
