This lecture was previously given on the 9th of February. Due to its success, this lecture will take place again.
Bettine Siertsema (university lecturer of History at the VU) and Dawn Skorczewski (professor of English at the VU) will give a lecture on the fortunes of the "diamond children", children of Amsterdam Jews working in the diamond industry during the Second World War and afterwards. They specifically deal with the way in which these children have dealt with their trauma in later life, through expressions in poetry, visual arts and other life projects.
