Hundreds of burning candles and the wonderful acoustics in the Portuguese Synagogue set the stage each month for unique evening concerts. Duo Ebano demonstrates what musical friendship sounds like.
Clarinetist Marco Danesi and pianist Paolo Gorini are Italian, but stayed in Amsterdam after their studies at the conservatory. Their friendship is drenched in music: making it, listening to it, as well as talking and thinking about it, which makes for well thought-out programs. This concert focuses on a number of Jewish composers.
Franz Schubert, Arpeggione Sonata, D.821 (1824)
Robert Muczynski, Time Pieces (1984)
George Gershwin, Three Preludes (1926)
Leonard Bernstein, Sonata for Clarinet and Piano (1942)
Marco Danesi, clarinet
Paolo Gorini, piano
