In this expressionistic science fiction film, a futuristic city in the year 2026 is controlled by the great 'Moloch Machine'. The people are divided into 'thinkers' who live in luxury in skyscrapers and 'workers' who toil in the mines. The beautiful Maria addresses the circumstances of the workers.

Directed by Fritz Lang.

This screening is organized as part of the exhibition Charlotte Salomon in close-up, which can be seen in the Jewish Museum until September 29.
