This film is set during the economic crisis in Berlin. A young man desperate for work commits suicide. When his family can no longer pay the rent and is evicted, they settle at the Kuhle Wampe campsite, where many homeless working-class families ended up.

Directed by Slatan Dudow.

This screening is organised as part of the exhibition Charlotte Salomon in Close-up, which can be seen in the Jewish Museum until September 29.
